Does fall gpa count towards admission?

Hi, I'm hoping to apply this fall and i was wondering if this fall's grades count towards my uc gpa.
For example, if I'm at a 3.6gpa currently, and if i end up with a 3.7 at the end of fall, will the uc's look at the 3.6 gpa or the 3.7gpa? Thanks for your responses! :)

Also, does anyone know if a 3.7 gpa is competitive for UCI's business administration program? I know it's highly impacted, but i'm just wondering if i have a chance, or if i'm just wasting my time.

When you apply in November, you give them your gpa as of that moment. Then in January, they will ask you to update your Spring classes and Fall grades. Those are the grades that are counted for admission.

Hey candles, if you take winter in between, they count those too, right?

It depends on when your winter grades come out. If winter grades come out by the final date up the update then they count. If not, then I don’t believe they count.

Berkeley and UCLA will ask for your winter grades, even if the semester ends after the January update.

This isn’t true. Do you have any evidence of this? ITs pretty agreed upon that they don’t. They only ask for them AFTER your admitted.

@Calbro, that is not true. You can submit them and sometimes a UC will take them into account. It’s at their discretion. But winter grades are not calculated into the GPA. It says it somewhere on the main UC admissions page, and I assume it is probably because it puts semester folks at a disadvantage.

Why did this get bumped?

If your grades come in, you should still update them on the app, but there is no guarantee that the UCs will see them.
