Does family lineage help your chances?

I am aware that if your grandparents and your parents attended a certain school and you plan to attend that school as well, you have a better chance of getting in to that college (correct me if I'm wrong). Well, my sister is attending UCLA right now, and I plan to attend UCLA if I do get in. I did get into UCSD, but UCLA is my first choice. I was wondering how much or how little having a sister in the campus helps in the admission process.

P.S. (did the UC application or applications in general ask if your family member is in the college you are applying for? I don't quite remember)

UC system does not consider legacy.

lineage? hahaha ur not a horse

AFAIK sister’s don’t count for “lineage,” and most public schools don’t care

actually rahulio most schools consider siblings in admissions decisions. its like having parents who went there. but yes, most public schools dont care.
