Does football help my chances? Please predict

Hey guys, I’m currently a senior in a decently competitive high school. I have started the college admissions process and my current target/reach schools include:
NYU (Probably early decision)
Cornell
Northwestern
Lehigh
WUSTL
U of Washington
etc. other schools of similar competitiveness

My stats currently:
3.6 UW GPA (Taken/Taking 6 AP’s including Stats, Physics, Chemistry, Calc, World, and Gov, as well as 7 honors courses)
1450 On SAT (720 reading, 730 math, 18 on essay) Yes I know, not too stellar
Predict a 34-36 on ACT, results coming in 6 days

I have around 200 hours of community service for Athletes for Kids, a program where an older athlete mentors a younger kid with a mental and/or physical disability every week.

I have taken 10 years of piano and 4 years of art lessons out of school, 2 and 1 in high school, respectively

I have played football for 10 years, all 4 years in high school with accomplishments such as :
3 year 2-way starter on varsity
3 Varsity letters
All-Conference defensive end
Captain of strength and conditioning program
All time leader board for squat and current for bench

My question is, do you think these achievements in football will help my chances for college? I was hoping so because I don’t think asian football players (me) with these accomplishments are seen very often at colleges. It seems like the general trend is towards tennis and badminton sports. How much do you think it will help? Also, how do my chances look for NYU? Cornell?

It will show a commitment to an EC, leadership, skills, etc. It is not a golden ticket, and it is really no better than if you’d participated in band for 10 years, mentored kids, been a leader, won an award for being section leader or selling them most items in a fund raiser.

Agree with the comments above. Unless you are a recruited athlete (which does not appear to be the case) football will be viewed as a good EC - nothing more and nothing less.

I do think it might set you apart from other Asian applicants, but no different than any other distinguishing EC.

Where does a 3.6 put you in approximate class rank? Top 5%, top 10%, lower? If lower, a lot of these schools will be really reachy no matter your test scores.

I do think that it will help.

Do you want to continue playing football in college ?

If so, have you been recruited by any schools ?

What do you want to study ? Any careers in mind ?
