Is there an online status check for submitted fordham applications? where I can verify if all my supplements made it?

I am not aware of one. But that may have changed. If you sent them on the common application, then you can verify that with the common app folks. If you sent in the Fordham application online, you can verify with Fordham admissions by shooting them an email. Polite, direct and don’t drivel. To the point. They will let you know if its incomplete.

Fordham expects another record year of applications, exceeding last years 27,000 applications. So now they are beginning the exceedingly busy season, which will become a raging river of incoming applications, recommendations, transcripts, SAT scores and who knows what, followed by a gazillion questions from anxious parents and applicants.

Its exceedingly rare that anything gets lost or doesnt arrive as intended. So it helps to just relax and breathe. Your application is in and all you can do is wait until week before Christmas to hear their decision. But be grateful, the RD folks have to wait until the last week in March.

Good luck to you.

My daughter applied last week, online, and received a letter from admissions. The letter asked that she NOT contact admissions. They informed her that if something was missing, they would contact her. They said that phonecalls and e-mails took up valuable time of admissions personnel.

agreed ^^^. A standard response from them to thwart the number of calls and emails they will get. BUT…if a problem does surface and a student doesn’t hear back from them in a reasonable time, then by all means you should contact them. They just don’t want inane questions or comments that clog up the system.

I know kids/parents get paranoid and have nightmares about lost documents and getting a bad result. Understandable. Just relax, check with your sources (recommendations for example), and trust it will all work out. If a problem does surface, then I think its okay to go ahead and make an inquiry.

There is a good Q & A site on the fordham.edu/admissions website. It answers a lot of questions that people may have.

Bombs away!! DS has finally gotten his first application underway - Fordham Early Action. The essays written, the CSS Profile submitted (OMG what a pain!), the application submitted, the scores sent, the forms to the Guidance Department for processing - all out of our hands now.

After that, the rest should be a breeze!

Not even worried about what their answer is - what happens, happens :).

Best of luck to him (and you).

I am with you Sylvan…so happy that it is all done…She will land where she lands. We gave it our best shot. The application is in, the test scores should be sent from collegeboard in the next couple of days, guidance has submitted all the paperwork and we submitted the CSS profile last night.

When do we here from Fordham?

^^^ If you applied EA for fall admission 2011, then you will hear something on or about December 20, normally the week before Christmas. Depends on the volume of applications they receive. I expect they will be getting another record year of applications, particularly in the EA cycle. So be patient.

As for transfer students for Spring Semester 2011, beginning in January 2011, I am not certain what they do.

Good luck to all.

Hi Sean518x,

I’m a member of Fordham’s Rose Hill Society and a former student worker in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, so I thought I’d be able to help! There is no online status check for applications, and as mentioned by the others above it’s rare for documents to get lost in the review process. I wouldn’t worry about it yet, if you are missing an important document Fordham will reach out to you and let you know in time. However, if you’re really worried that something went wrong, you can always call the office. The number is (718) 817-4000. The staff is incredibly busy right now, so I wouldn’t worry about calling unless it’s urgent.

Good luck!

iamafordhamram

I went ahead and called and it turns out they were missing my college transcript so I got that taken care of- it had been like two weeks since I mailed my application in and I hadn’t heard from them.

^^^^ Rose Hill Society? Oh goodness RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! Just kidding Imaram. Had to get that dig in there. LOL

Sean: you are a transfer applicant and that is likely a separate process from freshman admissions…so I can’t tell you anything about how that works.

My dau is applying EA & the AO sent her (and cc’d us) an email saying they had not yet recv’e the transcript or letters from teachers. Included in the email was a link to a status check page and a password to enter.

We used it to access, and then we printed the chart to take into the hs & show to the guidance counselor.

So they do have such a system. Good luck!

There is a separate website (different from my.fordham.edu) to check the status of your application:

https://admission.fordham.edu/status

Login with your email address and password

It will show your assigned reference number and list all the documents received along with the date received. If anything is missing, it will also be listed. This link does not give any admission decisions, but is a simple list to check the status of all documents received/outstanding.

Was it necessary to revive a 3 year old thread?

Sorry (not really) for posting what I thought was helpful information. I came across this thread after researching how to check the status of an application to Fordham. When this post originated, there may not have been an online status check. I discovered that there is now such a system in place and decided to post an answer to the original query. My intention was to help alleviate the frustration of prospective applicants (like myself, who search previous posts no matter how old) to gain constructive information, keeping in line with the fundamental tenants of CC.
