Does Georgetown consider AP scores?

I was wondering if I should send my AP scores to add to my file. I was deferred EA.
Thanks.

I would say yes. My ACT and SAT II's were ok, but my AP scores were great. I reported them and I think it helped the office see that my GPA wasn't inflated, I am just not fantastic at taking that kind of test. I think it is good information to add to a file for sure.

it seems to me, just based on looking at stuff online, that georgetown is pretty generous with ap credits

The amazing grades I got in my AP classes (all in 95-99 range) were not at all substantiated by my good, but not amazing, AP scores (5, 4, 4, 4, 3). I sent them in anyway. If I had been rejected, I wanted to know they rejected me for real.

Georgetown University "requires" three SAT II exams; does anyone know if an AP exam will satisfy the SAT II requirement? ( Requires is in quotes because Georgetown told me that international applicants do not have to comply if getting to a test site is too difficult).

There aren't any quotation marks around required, 3 SAT II's are indeed REQUIRED and you can't substitute APs.

The reason that I used quotation marks around the word required is that Georgetown's admission office told me that they couldn't use the word required because of the great number of international applicants whom are excused from providing 3 SAT IIs if they claim difficulty in getting to a testing site. Two different admissions officers at Georgetown told me this last year over the phone, and a third did so in person. One admissions person did stress that the strongest applicants will submit three SAT IIs, though. Georgetown did admit many applicants last year who did not supply three SAT IIs, including US based applicants ( I also remember this being discussed on CC last spring, with several posters writing that they were admitted without submitting 3 SAT IIs). I do not know the circumstances of those admissions; maybe Georgetown allowed AP exam results to substitute for SAT IIs.

they are especially forgiving with EA applicants because of time, but if you are applying RD it is more important to have 3

My son did great on his boards, but took one science and Math I and II. He is going for business. Do you think it is an issue that he didnt take something other than math/science?

I was unsure about what to take for my third SAT II, and I already had two good ones so I applied EA in order to receive the forgiving SAT II policy

tallmom, I think it is okay that he didn't take a non science/math, but some schools don't like to count both Math 2 and Math 1.

But I am not sure about Georgetown's policy regarding this...

its not so much as only science/math its that most schools wont count BOTH MAthI and Math II.....Try taking the literature exam, it requires no special prep (its hard when you are taking it but the score works out the way they grade it)................hope that helps!

i wouldnt worry...im a freshman in MSB and all i had was Math I, Math II, and US History...as long as the scores are good and your son has a passion for math it doesnt matter

Just curious...how were your boards and grades? My son had a 34 on the ACT, a 97 weighted, and will have 7 APs and 4 college level courses when done. Straight A's and A+'s this year. SAI IIs 650 bio, 740 math I 790 math II. He is also a legacy. What do you think for McDonough?

ACT is amazing.....

It seems like his main issue were his grades maybe freshman or sophmore year?

But I think he should get into Gtown no problem......has he aimed for some more selective schools like Cornell, UPenn or Brown?

He applied to Wharton and Ross. He is in Michigan but no word from Ross yet. He didnt like Cornell when he visited. He was a very good student throughout. Had about 4 B+ over the years, but other than that, all As.
