Does Georgetown have an unoffical quota system or something?

I was wondering is Georgetown has an unoffical quota system.

For example, if two people apply from the same school EA, and they have similar stats, does Georgetown only accept one person from that particular high school (at least EA) because they want diversity? Like it would be silly to have like five people in a class of 2,000 from the same high school.

Does anybody on CC know if more than one kid has gotten into Georgetown EA while applying from the same high school?

Thanks.

my school got 5 in ea 1 sfs 2 coll 2 business

im the only one from my school, and what seems like the only one from my county as well. i think it depends on how competitive your region is as a whole, like im from socal.

i think it may feel that way just because georgetown takes so few early. some schools will take 50% of their class early, georgetown caps that to 30% of the class, when you start getting down and dividing that by each college that just isn't a lot of people so it would be rare that a lot of them went to he same school. so congrats to jgwentworth and his school

or her school (yeah for political correctness)

i doubt there's a quota system. my friend and i have pretty much the same stats and we both got into the college EA, and we both go to the same school. i'm sure they don't accept an endless stream from the same school, and i was worried because i'd always heard that schools like georgetown shy away from accepting multiple people from the same school, but apparently it doesn't matter all that much.

They don't intentionally cap the class amount, but rather have the exact same admit rate from the previous year. Therefore, your chances are not increased by applying early. As for a quota system, I would not be surprised if they had one. At my high school, Harvard only allows one person to be admitted. Period. There has never been less or more in 10 years. I had an interviewer (who may or may not be knowledgeable confirm this). Therefore, I would not be surprised if Georgetown was similar. I would say that if they had a quota, it probably wouldn't affect a lot of people, but who knows.

Not sure, but my year from my high school, they accepted 3 out of 3 of us into the FLL.

I see guys. It is just that I got deferred and I can't understand why I did.

My Superscored SAT was:

M: 710
CR: 760
W: 720

GPA: All As and only one B in an AP Class.

Good recs and stuff.

Perhaps I sent in too many supplementary stuff...

guess it shows you that numbers arent everything.
maybe they wanted to balance out their class?
diversity? maybe someone had similar stats to you, similar activities?
its okay, i got into georgetown but deferred at notre dame.
strange, but whatever. life moves on!

last year seven got into Georgetown from my school and this year three got in early. I think they base it more on merit than anything else

Yeah.
Two from my school got into the college and one deferred SFS. . .
pretty good for a small arts school (98 in the class!)
My friend and I that got in have VERY similar stats and take all the same classes. . . different extra curriculars though.
haha we were convinced we'd be in direct competition with each other!
