Does Georgia Tech really care if i make consistant C's in history? I have never made a B in a science or Math class, and my Act math is a 33 and my act english is a 35. And i come from mississippi, the poorest and lowest achivieing state in the nation.

Now will georgia tech care about my grades in classes like history and government, or do they see making 100's in math and physics good enough?

Or am i inadvertantly conveying an attitude problem?

Georgia Tech does care about grades but not as much as some schools. They do not even ask for the transcript but you self report your grades. They verify the numbers when you are accepted and if you are too far off, you have a problem.

If it helps I have friends who had D's in English and still got in/went here. After they stopped having to take English classes, they did quite well and graduated in 4 years.

damn that must mean that they really dont factor that into admissions as much as i thought.

You misinterpreted what self-reported grades mean. It means that they have to process less separate stuff and if they find out you fudged with your transcript in a meaningful way after you get admitted then they'll rescind their offer. GPA is the single most important thing they look at according to GT's common data set.

My GPA wasn't anything stellar (3.6ish)--I think even lower than the average acceptance GPA, but my ACT scores were similar to yours. I had a 33 in Math and 34 in English, which they scaled to a 740 Math/770 Reading. I was accepted.

I don't think Tech cares about individual class grades, as long as you pass everything--they look at the overall GPA more. I may be wrong though.
