I just got one of those emails this afternoon from USC - does this mean a big welcome package is on its way or not? The online thing still says they're reviewing my application though. Or maybe its a rejection letter? Do they send all letters - big packages and little tiny rejection letters in business envelopes - via DHL/courier?

Really?? I don’t want to get over excited in case it’s a false alarm :P

To be precise this is what the email said:

"DHL Shipment Notification

Greetings from DHL!

(Please do not reply to this email address since it is not monitored for
responses)

On March 12, 2009 a shipment label was printed by Al Padilla
(213-743-8516) of USC for delivery to _____________.
The shipment number of this package is XXXXXXXXXX.

Sender’s message:
‘No message.’

To obtain tracking information use any of these options:

Colleges send acceptance packages to international students by DHL/Fedex/UPS to make sure they arrive safe & fast. If it was a rejection letter, I believe they wouldn’t bother paying for a courier service. Good luck!

Yup, you’re accepted, congrats! And if you’re still uncertain, USC only sends out rejections after they’ve sent out all their acceptances, which is in April. =)

Alright, I went to pick up the mail and I’m in! Which is great! There’s a lot of info to pour over and tons of pretty, colorful pictures - haha. I would love to go but I just have to find a way to afford the hefty 50+k/year…

I received the exact same message today. I had received the acceptance e-mail a couple of days ago tho. Thanks for the information, good to know there’s a lot of pretty nice pictures in it, hahaha

so excited to go to USC what program are you in?

@axw: I’m an international, so no. I couldn’t make the scholarship deadline either so I’m not getting anything 1st year.

@emadbs: I’m in architecture but like I said to axw, I’m an international and I’m not getting any aid from USC so I really have a lot to think about in terms of “is it worth it?”…What program are you in?

@MJ09:
Don’t be scared! It’s good news, so channel out all that excitement! But leave some for when the actual package arrives It’s full of colorful pictures and Trojan propaganda, enjoy. And congrats, of course. What program are you in?

@spongebodge - just received my DHL package - very impressive. I thought that USC does not give scholarship/aid to international students. Because of this, I will probably not accept the offer. I also got admitted to UoMichigan,Ann Arbor and the international fees are way lower.
