Hi,

I'm a high school sophomore who is currently taking an organic chemistry elective in school. The course is extremely difficult and I am currently averaging a B in the class. On the bright side, I have straight A's in all of my other classes. In my school, electives are only for one trimester and meet two times a week. I spoke to my guidance counselor and to older students and they said that the B will not hurt my GPA.

My main concern is if I get this grade in this class, will admissions officers at schools such as (Columbia or UPenn) think that I am not suitable for their high caliber?

Thanks so much!
