I mean really.
I know that for high schools, University gives +points for going to a good private school, and no point for going to a regular public school.

I know that SMC is like a top class community college. It has the highest transfer rate in California, and highest number of people being admitted to UCLA.

I go to College of the Canyons, i dunno if any of you know it or not, but it's a good school, but i doubt it's as highly reputed as SMC.

do you think this will hurt my chance of admission?

we're not the admission committe so nobody here can say for sure.

but seriously why worry about something you can't change?

if this is bothering you, change schools. otherwise focus on yourself...you're way more important than the school you went to. so yea good luck =)

yeah thats what im considering also.
I'm visiting SMC tomorrow to see their policy and is thinking of switching for this fall..
but i dunno yet.

^ Wow, ***. Seriously, please don't. You will be able to succeed from any community college.

For that matter, COC is pretty bad ass. We've sent people to Yale; as well as a couple to Stanford and Cornell over the last few years. Haha, and almost all my homies (friends in student gov, tutoring lab, in classes) who applied to UCLA got in.

I'm fresh out COC dhl3...! yup, I felt like I mastered the school when I was there. In the sense, that I took advantage of all the available opportunities and whatnot. If you have any questions whatsoever, don't hesitate to ask :)

Yup, applying this fall.
Just need to get couple more activities and leadership program to make up for my below-average EC history.
And yes, Berkeley is one of the schools I'm applying. Somehow, I have a feeling that it'd be easier than the UCLA econ major transfers, even with the HITE.

3.8 haha but I had like 37 hite units. I think thats what set me apart. I was also student trustee for a while and other random ****...like tutoring in TLC lab.

If you need more activities, you should join ASG or tutor a subject in the TLC lab.
