Well, I'm now a senior at a military academy and of course, it's my last year of high school. Since sophomore year, I've been getting 3.2s up to 3.7s. As of Now, I am taking 3 AP courses & my GPA went up to around 4.0 Currently, my first semester is almost over and after all the midterm tests are corrected, my scores will be avaliable. For the univeristies, I already sent my application to:

UC Irvine
UC Los Angeles
UC San Diego
UC Davis
UC Santa Cruz
UC Merced

I only received supplement from Irvine & La...

Do colleges still care if you have like a 4.0 second semester after they receive your first semester of senior year transcripts..?
I do know that they want us to graduate...

well, you do have to maintain a good standing throughout your senior year. so keeping your grade above 3.0 your senior is a good idea, but as far as helping you get into a UC, your grades do not matter much senior year.

Your grades matter IF they send you the request for supplemental materials. If you do not receive that, then the admissions people have made their decision based on your original application. With the UC's you can appeal if you get rejected and send your senior grades in at that time.

Then those two schools are obviously interested in you and will see your first semester grades. Keep in mind that they deal with seniors all of the time and are used to the fluctuations in GPA that can occur. Try to relax and do your best academically. Good luck with your admisssions!

Yes, it means they do not have any further questions about your application and will either accept you or not based on what is in the original application. Remember, supplemental reviews at the UC's are not common among the applicant pool at large and only a small percentage of applicants are asked to send in additional transcripts, etc. ... if they needed supplemental information from a large number of applicants each year, I am sure they would change their applications to reflect that. Good luck.
