Does greater number of a-levels impress selective colleges?

Hello,

I recently completed my IGCSEs (6A*) and willing to get on CIE A-levels, my primary choice would be 4 maths, chem , phy and bio. But it struck me, would taking 5 or 6 a levels (history/English) would improve my chances in getting into top selective colleges (MIT/Harvard)

Thanks.

The AOs of those schools will need to be impressed by you holistically, including ECs, test scores, GPA, class rank, personality, and character. Course rigor is a very important piece of the puzzle. Do well in those levels and they certainly won’t hurt you, but take care not to take on more than you can handle because GPA is also a very important factor.
