hey my friends said that he copied parts of his essay for Harvard from the internet i wanted to know does Harvard and the other ives check for plagiarism or do they know some how???????

They do now. I'm sure the committee thanks you.

i'm sure harvard's admissions staff doesn't have time to check every essay they get but if your friend copied part of the essay, then it might've sounded contrived to the admissions committee and they might be suspicious enough to check it

lol @ mardad

http://turnitin.com/static/home.html

Hope that he didn't copy it from a popular essay posted as an archetype of tear and admission inducing genre :)

An easier one would be www.google.com

So Jerseygirl07 you're saying they'll check it only if it's really good?

maybe they only accept the essays submitted online (like they run all the essays through turnitin or google? dunno) but i would imagine that they don't check the paper apps that pple mail in but in the end, it's immoral to plagarize and shows ur friend's lack of confidence in him/herself
