does Harvard have a bottom line for SAT Reasoning?

<p>I’ll quote here two consistent statements I have heard from Harvard admission officers at public meetings. More than once, I have heard the figure offered that in general a score of 650 or higher on each section of the SAT is “competitive” for Harvard. I have also heard, more than once, and most recently on the campus of Harvard itself, that there is no MINIMUM score (and no minimum G.P.A.) for admission to Harvard. Harvard’s NCAA self-study </p>

<p>(thanks to CC participant PapaChicken for first sharing this link) makes clear that Harvard regards SAT scores for every applicant, but recognizes that some applicants bring to the table other amazing abilities that allow some flexibility in regarding test scores. </p>

<p>Most students actually admitted to Harvard have high test scores. A few have other characteristics that add a lot to the Harvard community, and reasonably decent scores. </p>
