I keep seeing lists on CC saying Harvard has one of the best IR programs in the country for undergrad, but when I go to their website, I can't find it listed as a concentration or major.

So can you actually be an IR major at Harvard? Or do you have to major in Political Science or Gov and specialize in IR?

Can anyone shed light on this? Any help would be appreciated.

There are basically four Gov concentrations - International Relations, American Government, Comparative Government, and a more philosophy based one (not too sure about this last one.

It’s exactly the same as IR at any other school, just a different name.

The 4 ‘concentrations’ are not really concentrations at all in the sense that you specialize in one. Your transcript/diploma will still only list Government as your concentration, not the sub-field. Also, you CAN take additional courses in any of the subfields you’d like, but the department doesn’t make a distinction for ‘international relations.’ You could of course, do an honors thesis on a topic related to international relations, but your degree is still in Government.
