because on the app, i don't see any ED options. tell me if i'm misinformed

Yes their early policy is nonbinding, but you can only apply there early.

so why do they only have EA? and not ED?

Many schools do not have binding ED programs these days. In my opinion, EA is preferrable because you can still apply early, but you also have the flexibility of waiting to hear from every college you applied to RD to compare fin aid pkgs, visit campuses, etc.

I thought I might also add in case you were confused, schools do not normally have both ED and EA. A lot of schools are seeing the advantages of EA or SCEA and choosing that instead.

SCEA allows you to apply to only one school early, yet still apply in the RD round.

They don't have just ED because they get a wider pool with SCEA and when they go head-to-head against schools, they win an overwhelming majority of the time with top applicants. Not quite as wide as open EA, which everyone and their grandmother applied under.

SCEA gives a significant advantage. That being said, I still applied RD and got in, so trust your gut.
