Hi, I am asking this question because I dont know which SAT II to take, and Harvard seems to prefer SAT US History. I got to this conclusion because Harvard doesnt offer credit for AP WH, but does for APUSH. What do you think?

Did you know Harvard has just stated that SAT ii subject tests are now optional? But does that mean you won’t take them now because of that option?
Not sure where you read that. Unless a student opts for Advanced Standing (graduating in less than 4 years) Harvard DOES NOT give outright credit for any AP course except AP Foreign Language – scoring a 5 on an AP Foreign Language test exempts a student from Harvard’s FL graduation requirement. Other AP courses can be used for placement in higher level courses. Assuming one activates Advanced Standing, Harvard will give credit for USH and Euro Hist, but not world hist.
^^ I undersand, but that’s only if a student opts for Advanced Standing. Only a small handful of students actually opt for Advanced Standing every year – I can’t remember where I read it, but I believe only about 12 students per year (out of 1660 freshman) opt for Advanced Standing. So, for the vast majority of Harvard students, AP credit is NOT given for either AP US History or AP Euro History.
I don’t know which they prefer, but I took both and got a 660 on US History. I found it much much easier than World History, which I got a 490 on.
I am an international student and I want to major in Government and Economics, are you sure WH is the same to USH?
Yes, I’m sure. Unless you opt for Advanced Standing, Harvard doesn’t grant credit for AP’s (except for scoring a 5 on an AP Foreign Language exam). See: https://college.harvard.edu/frequently-asked-questions
