Does having a B or C completely take you out of the Ivy League pool?

Math has never been my strong point and I got a B in an advanced math class. I tried my absolute best but the B was the best I could do and hopefully it does not go down to a C.

I am first in my class, founder of my school newspaper, in NHS, high test scores, and a bunch of other things, but this B is really worrying me. It will ruin my 4.0 GPA.

NO, not having a 4.0 won’t ruin your chances.

But you should be worried applying to Harvard whether you have a 4.0 or not since they deny thousands of 4.0s every year (and admit many less than 4.0). If you know anything about top schools admit criteria, you’ll know admissions factors are many things. A 4.0 is a requirement

Every year there’s someone who asks this question. The answer is no, one B will definitely not ruin your chances. Your application is holistic. If an applicant with one B on their transcript gets rejected, it’s not because of the B, it’s due to other factors.
