If you are an ethnicity that is entirely underrepresented in a particular college, does that increase your chances? Say, for example, you are Armenian and there are very, very few to no other Armenians at said college. Does it help that you are Armenian even if you are technically considered to be white?
Nope. Ethnicity is not itself a hook. It’s not a dimension on which schools measure themselves nor do they have to report it anywhere. On the other hand, an unusual life story or set of life experiences could be help differentiate you from the mass of high achievers, so by all means share what you have.
