Hey guys.. trying to decide between JH, Cal, and UCLA, and it's very important to me that the school I go to is unified and has a strong sense of community. I know that Cal and UCLA have that, but does Hopkins? do people get super hyped for the lacrosse games? feel like they belong with the school?

Yes. the volume can’t match ucla or cal, but yes there is school spirit. Not everything single person you meet who goes to Hopkins is “spirity” and there are schools definitely known for their crazy fans/spirit (hopkins not one) but people are proud of the school and lacrosse brings out the best.

lol lol lol the only sports i care about here are intramural… i have been to a few basketball games, wrestling matches, baseball games, soccer games, etc but the only thing i do consistently is intramurals. i go to school games to cheer for friends but otherwise im a fair-weather fan hahaha. i think that’s how most of the the student body works.

that said a good number of people follow hopkins lax hardcore and wear the nest shirts and w/e so you wouldn’t be alone.

If you’re looking to match the spirit levels of Cal or UCLA, you probably won’t find it here, but people get fairly pumped up at games (especially Homecoming, which is great!). However, if you are looking for everyone to know about what happened at the lax game yesterday, or to follow the season regularly, it probably won’t happen here (unless you find a unique group of friends who are very interested.)
