I was just told that even schools that don’t do rolling admission still care about when your application arrives. Does it really matter as long as you make the deadline?
No. Typically all is equal if it comes in by the deadline.
No need to “bump” or initiate a new thread on this topic; nobody is likely to answer differently from omega1. Some people might warn you to submit before 11:59 on the deadline date, just in case your internet crashes at the wrong moment, but colleges have been nice about things like power outages. Most were flexible when Super-Storm Sandy hit the East Coast just as Early Decision deadlines were approaching. So, no need to bump this thread. You have your answer.
You’ve been told incorrectly. Colleges read files when they’re complete. Your classmate submits his app on Oct 20th and you submit on Dec 29th. Your school sends the transcripts on Jan 15th. Yours and his file are both ready to read at the same time. His app has been sitting there unread b/c it wasn’t complete. Many factors are out of your control.
This is a myth. There are things to be concerned about. Rushing your app before it’s your best version isn’t one of them.
In general, yes. Be aware that if you are applying for scholarships you may have to apply early though.
YOU’VE ASKED THE SAME QUESTION THREE TIMES IN A 24 HOUR PERIOD

omega: you’re a junior. You have 9.5 months to NOT be late. Planning early to avoid being crushed at the end is fine but this is ridiculous. Relax already.
