Im considering applying for Arch, but after reading the previous posts, it seems like im going to have a hell of a time getting in. I'm a junior with ~3.83/4.1 GPA taking all hard classes, and I plan on gettin about 2000-2100 on the SAT next month.. on those things alone I cant get in, but im taking CADD courses at my local CC this summer, an Arch drawing class in school, and am doing a mentorship thru my school for a year. Is having this kind of prior experience something everyone applying is going to have, or could doing this really give me a leg up when admissions come around?

i think it's nice to have, but it won't weight as much as numbers or achievements. my boyfriend goes to cooper and in hs he had a 3.78; SAT 2200; SATII's Chem 780; APs Math, Physics, Chem- all 5s except for one which he got a 4, and his ecs were Latin Club and Skateboarding. The only 'extra' thing he did was take a Latin Course over the summer and get an A in the class.
My other friend who goes there got into the Art program, she was 3rd in her class, and received numerous county, state, and national awards for her art. I don't believe she didn't do anything super extra as well.
But Good Luck!
