So regarding financial aid...
My mom filled out the main FAFSA form and the CSS Profile thing, so that stuff is technically complete. However, my parents are divorced and my dad is too lazy to/refuses to/doesn't want to fill out the Non-Custodial Parent Form for the FAFSA, which means my financial aid information will be incomplete.

I was wondering if having incomplete financial aid info affects how a college views me as an applicant and holds any weight when they consider admitting me or not.

I know it doesn't for Wash U (since I got in :P ) but I've still got CMU, Columbia, Cornell, Northwestern, Princeton, UPenn, Tufts, and USC.

At the ivies, Admissions and financial aid function as 2 separate entities. It will have no bearing on your admission; outside of federal entitlement aid, you just would not receive a package that contains institutional aid.

Will you need financial aid to attend those schools? If so, you have a problem, because without the information from your father, you are unlikely to get it. What is the status of that situation? (FAFSA only schools are ok, you don’t need is info. The CSS schools you do.)

If your dad doesn’t fill out those forms then the schools will not process your aid pkg beyond the tiny amounts that you might get from the feds.

your bigger problem is your dad. you won’t get aid without his paperwork.

Admissions to these schools are need blind meaning that your admissions are not affected or decided upon by your need for or applications for financial aid.

BUT as others have said…if your financial aid package is incomplete, the schools will NOT award you financial aid…beyond entitlement federal aid (Pell grant, Stafford loans). That is a drop in the bucket for the costs to attend these schools.

Can your mom pay for these schools without any financial aid from these schools for ALL FOUR YEARS?

Is this Wash U in St. Louis…because if it is…their regular decision offers have not been sent yet…and their early offers are EARLY DECISION. How is it that you have an Early Decision admit to Wash U (St. Louis) but you have not withdrawn your other application?
