Okay, my GC printed my transcript out, scanned it into the computer, and then sent it over commonapp.

The university i'm applying to says that transcript must be official and that photocopies are not allowed.

So, did my GC do the right thing? Is what she did allowed? How will it affect me if it turns out that my transcript is unacceptable?

Is the transcript signed? Does it say “official” anywhere?

i’m not sure, i’ll have to ask tomarrow. But what if my transcript is signed by my GC, and says official, does it count? The university says no photocopies, but i never touched my transcript. My GC did everything.

If it’s sent electronically I don’t see how you could tell whether it was a photocopy. I think they’re saying if it’s sent via mail, they want an original (i.e. not a photocopy) version.

Most likely your transcript does say “official” :)

if it says official on it and your GC has signed it, then it is official. I agree with HighlandMom, i think that if they are sent by mail, then it can’t be a photocopy.

Anyway, if the University has any problems or doubts with your transcript, they’ll notify you or your school to send another one.
