Does it frighten you?

Lol. It’s because all the crappy writers got on the thread with their defensive attitudes. Look at everyone who disagrees with the initial post.

my point is that I’ve spent most of my time studying math not English,
and that is why my English is poor compared to other students majoring English.

I think it is all about making choices. If you make a choice, you have to give up something.
I’ve Chosen math and given up studying English intensively because I’m too busy to study math.
I do agree with you, eminent_youtom, that people majoring science need good English skill, but not everyone is capable of learning many things at once. At least, I can’t.
So, stop blaming people who are not smart enough to study both their Majors and English.

If they are good at their fields, that is enough.

and BTW, I’m an international student who has been in the U.S. for 2.5 years =0
so, don’t blame my poor English, I’m still learning it =)

right… that’s why you don’t know how to construct a proper argument. anyways good luck in life. you’ll need it. ;D

just stop bumping this thread. nick wants to feel good about capitalizing the L in lol. let’s get back to the URSA threads.

“Lol. First off eminent_youtom, not everything is about you; stop being so egocentric! And this thread is not directed at ESL students (I am not an evil person!).”

Hmm… I don’t know why anyone would even attempt to imply that their grammar is close to perfect in a place such as this. I mean I can point out that you’ve incorrectly used the semicolon but my ***** doesn’t look or feel an inch or two bigger. Chill out bro, nobody needs to impress or earn anything from anybody on this forum. Like most things, there’s a place for that.

Lol. Yes it is definitely the greatest self-esteem booster because you know, it has nothing to do with the fact that I mechanically capitalize the first letter in any of my posts.

your name, nick THE COOLEST, indeed, reflects your self. I am sure you must be a good writer, but I can guarantee that you lack basic critical-thinking ability. If Microsoft word would be able to operate on its own, then for sure it would write an essay without any punctuation and grammatical error, however it would be meaningless because it would not be able to write critically. Same thing might be going with you buddy.

BTW I wish for your success, so that you can do rational judgement.

Lol. The semi-colon is fine there, though I will concede perhaps a “–” or “,” could have worked just as fine.

“nd BTW, I’m an international student who has been in the U.S. for 2.5 years =0
so, don’t blame my poor English, I’m still learning it =)”

bro! I totally agree with you. Even I came to the US on 2006.
BTY where are you from and where are you transferring to?

^ You mean BTW? ?

The semicolon is not fine in fact, it’s wrong. Since it appears you are majoring in English, I’ll let you have the pleasure of finding out why. I highly encourage you to copy down that ‘thing’ you call a sentence and ask one of your professors whether it is correct or not. Get back to me ASAP! “Lol.”

haha ya… It was a typo!!

im being dead honest when i say i’m pooping as well. laptops FTW!

who cares what grammar mistakes we make here -.- we know we can all write well when it comes to academic writing for CLASS… this is just a place to share our thoughts. Do you all talk the same way you talk to your professors at home/friends?

personally i think it’s scarier to see someone who writes here like they’re writing an essay

seriously…what is the point of this thread…stop bumping it guys lol

u r right Spooned

Why do I get the feeling that most people don’t believe “nickthecoolest” is cool at all. Lol. By the way I could’t care less about the thread I simply don’t like people like you. But I am sure you’re used to that by now.

Oh and Spooned my feelings exactly. Theres always a guy like this on every site for some reason…they cant seem to understand that some people have the “chill” part of their lives then they have the “academic.” This site is just chill. Why try to have good grammer to impress cocky nerds like nick haha

All of this coming from a person who has posted 101 posts on these boards in 2 days. Right on…

someone catching feelings?

im just stating the obvious
