Does it get boring by upper division years

Now i know a lot of people in this board may dismiss all the hype about Davis being a boring town and i agree with you all. But since Davis is a town in which it is relatively easy and quick to check out everything, by the 3rd and 4th year does it lose a lot of its fun and satisfaction? This question does not pertain to nearby cities or the campus itself - just the city environment. Does the utility (the economic term for total satisfaction from a good or service) decline relatively faster to other universities out there (particularly Irvine for me since thats the other one im considering). Pleez help since tommorow is my last day to choose between irvine and davis and i have visited both campuses but i felt i did not spend enough time in either.

You can always: get a job, get an internship, join a research group, travel to Sacramento, or travel to Reno =]. Choose soon man. If I were you, I would choose UCD...

thanx for the advice i appreciate it. But getting an internship, job, or research group is not anything notable about the city environment (although internship and research group is notable thing about the school). What i meant was like the general atmosphere and setting, the stores, restaurants, etc. Sacramento i heard only has one cool place to go and thats the Downtown Plaza-Old Sacramento-Arden Fair Mall area and besides that theres just the usual entertainment and stores that u'd expect in any other suburb city. So with that and anything else i havent added in mind, doesnt living in Davis get tiring by 3 to 4 years? Now this does not include the university experience itself just the town of Davis's setting and the setting of nearby cities like Sacramento. You could go to Reno or San Fran but those trips are 1 hr + so that wouldnt fix the boredom prob unless ur a traveloholic.

I think of it this way... freshmen can't buy parking permits, so the vast vast majority won't have cars, and a few lucky souls will have friends with cars. That said, it's more challenging for them to explore the region. By upper division years, yeah you've seen what Davis has to offer.. but now you have a car so you can drive wherever you want when you want to so if you get bored of Davis... you can leave. I'm a 4th year now, and I'm sticking around for grad school here so that'll be at least 4 more years. I'm not sick of it here yet.
