<p>How can it hurt? Colleges won't think of you as a terrorist just must less than they do that I, being Chinese, am a genius (which I'm not even close to).</p>
<p>Can't hurt, that's for sure, unless Iranians are overrepresented at a particular institution that you're interested in.</p>

<p>you're under the general title of asian, which means you draw a blank because you aren't a urm. neutral chances. of course, some would say you're disadvantaged, but that's negative thinking.</p>

<p>I don't think it had an affect on older D's applications last year, nor do I think it will this year for my younger D though she is applying some different schools. </p>
<p>My husband is Iranian, so they put "Iranian American" on their forms. Even though it is correct to mark the "Asian" box, they usually mark "other"...that's what seems to feel more correct to them.</p>
