it makes no difference at all. some kids take the ACT to see if it is a better test for their abilities. If you are satisfied with your SAT scores and do not live in a part of the country where the ACT is mandated, then it is a non-issue.

thanks. it’s amazing how much i’m doubting myself now that i’m so close to turning this thing in D:

I think I read in another post that you are waiting to submit your app so that you can re-review. I agree that you should make sure you’ve said all there is to say, but at a point you’re going to make yourself crazy. By now you’ve probably reviewed extensively. Sure, there will be a time when you have a revelation that something could have been done differently, but as long you’ve hit the big stuff, then you’re fine. Take a deep breath, have a parent look it over for major problems, and then submit it.

i’m planning on doing it today. cause you’re right, i’m driving myself up the wall with this. thanks for the advice, it calms me down lol

make sure that a parent/mentor reviews the common app with you, just to check for egregious errors, and then let 'er rip!

will do! thanks haha

Of course not. It used to be that kids on the East coast took the SAT while those in the midwest took the ACT, and many felt the former was more prestigious and harder than the latter. Now, though, many applicants take both to see which they do better on, but only scores for one of them are considered. Personally, I only took the SAT. I did well enough on it that I felt no need to take the ACT.
