How unfavorably do colleges look upon it if one takes the SAT three times. I have taken the SAt twice.
JAN: 800 CR 570M 620W
then in June
JUNE: 760 Cr 590M 760W
and I will retake the SATS in October (cutting it close, I know)
To try and raise the math score to at least 700.
My question is: how much will colleges penalize me for taking the SAT 3 times?

No one will care.

Colleges don’t penalise for how many times you take the SAT, but any more than 3 wont look good.

Looking at it this way:
If you took the SAT five times, but went from 1700 to 1750 to 1840 to 1920 to 2050, that would definitely be justified, but that kind of improvement pattern is incredibly rare; usually improvement plateaus somewhere, and it almost never occurs linearly.

Bottom line, 3 times is fine, but hopefully your scores will improve from the second time. If they don’t, don’t take it again until/unless you’re absolutely sure you can improve greatly. And congratulations on having achieved 800 on CR; that’s the hardest section to get an 800 on.
