Does it look bad to not take an AP test?

I am a senior this year taking AP Gov, AP Psych, AP Lit and AP Physics. I don’t plan to take the AP test for Lit since i passed the lang test and therefore get the college credit (since both ap lang and lit are the same class in college) and I dont plan to the the ap test for physics because last year only 2 people at my school passed.

Will this look bad on my UC apps if i don’t take those tests? by the end of senior year I will have taken 6 ap tests and 8 ap classes.

Well, you will have already received your admissions decision by the time you take the AP exams, so I don’t see why it would matter. The only reason you would consider taking them is to get college credit.
At my HS, every student in an AP class is required to take the exam- but, seniors usually just mess around during exam time and don’t write much down. If you have to pay for the exam yourself, I’m sure its fine to not take those 2 exams.

Agreed. If your HS does not require you to take the test, and your grade is not dependent upon you taking the test, there’s no reason to take them if you don’t want to **unless/b the college requires the tests as a condition of admission.

You may want to wait to make this decision until you see where you have been admitted. You may just want to try taking the tests if you are headed to a college that is generous with AP credit. If you are not, then you could skip it.
I am not sure why you think the two English AP tests duplicate each other-at colleges that give AP credit, those are two different opportunities for you to earn units.

Some colleges, if they give AP English credit at all, limit the credit given. This can apply to public universities as well as private ones. e.g. UC:
