Does it look bad to submit at deadline?

I really want to go to Georgetown-SFS but I'm a really bad procrastinator. I've already written one essay and everything, but I will probably wait until the last minute to actually FINISH. Will it look bad if my application is postmarked Jan. 9 or 10? Just wondering, I'm gonna try and finish before 2006 but who knows.

I have a friend who turned in her application the night before it was due, and she got in.

The people who take your application out of the envelope are not the same people who read it, nor do these two actions happen on the same day. It's not like the admissions officers gather around a table, each grab an envelope from a big stack, snicker at the postmark and then set out to read your app. Everything gets filed away and put with your recs, test scores, etc, THEN it'll all be read together once the envelope is long gone. Don't worry.

That would be very scary.

haha, i know, i hope not!! Thanks, I've just heard some places say that they read applications in the order they were received, but I guess I feel a little better about procrastinating! :)
