<p>I know that you should always do the best you can, but what happens if you take the MCAT twice with a significant improvement the 2nd time?</p>
<p>A couple of medical schools have told me quietly that they place *much *greater emphasis on the first score, on the logic that “You don’t get second chances with patients.” From what I can tell, these are the exceptions.</p>
<p>Most of them tell you they will simply consider both scores. From watching my friends, however, their cycles tend to be more consistent with what you’d expect from their lower score, not their higher one. I’ve seen a 27/35 and a 30/36 get rejected everywhere, which is what you’d expect from a 27 and a 30.</p>
