I am a senior in high school and have already been accepted to the University of Missouri-Columbia, which was my top choice because of the excellent J-School. However, I was not accepted into the J-School itself, but into the College of Arts and Sciences -- meaning that I will be Pre-Journalism instead of Journalism. You have to either be in the top 10 percent of your class or have a 29 on the ACT to be Journalism. I am definitely not in the top 10, and I have a 28.

I know I will be able to apply to the J-School again at the end of sophomore year, which is when all the serious Journalism stuff begins anyway, but I am nervous I will be missing out on something by being Pre-Journalism the first two years. To make a long story short, I was wondering if anyone had any insight on the differences between Pre-Journalism and Journalism majors. Thanks in advance!
