Does it make sense to Major in Finance for my MBA?

My undergrad concentration was in Marketing and I am currently working in internet marketing and website design. Would I have to take some undergrad courses or could I jump right into a finance concentration for my MBA?

depends on the school, but I’m guessing you could jump right in.

If you took a standard business curriculum as an undergrad that included two semesters of accounting and a semester of finance, I would think you’re ready for grad-level finance. Many of your classmates will not have undergrad degrees in business (and may therefore need to take some foundation courses that you can skip).

MBA programs often do not have any specific undergraduate course or major prerequisites, so you should be fine. However, if you mean an MFE (Master’s of Financial Engineering) or some such program offered at some business schools, such programs may require some specific preparation, particularly in math and statistics.
