Hi, I was wondering if it mattered what school, or the rank or difficulty level of my school, I am from when transferring into a highly ranked university.
In case of applying to a school like Dyson (AEM Cornell), which is ranked 3rd in business school ranking, with a gpa higher than 3.8, would it make me a better candidate if I am from a top 30 college like Emory, CMU, BC or NYU than a lower ranked school like George Washington university or University of Hawaii (my home state)?
Likewise, would it be easier to transfer to a school like emory, cmu, or nyu from Boston University than from University of Hawaii, which is ranked 150 nationally?
I guess it can generally be said that it is harder to get good grades in higher ranking school with higher difficulty level with more academic peers, though there may be some exceptions. So basically, is it better to have a 3.9+ in a top 50 college or a 3.8+ in a top 30 college?
Thank you in advance.
