I am turning in my Online Application for a art academy before the deadline. I’d like to know if I can send my transcript and teacher recommendations a little while after I’ve submit the online app?
In other words, if I send in my transcript, it won’t arrive at the same time I submit my online application, because it will take a week or so via mail. And my teachers said they might take a few weeks to write my recommendation.
You should probably send in your recommendation and transcripts close to the deadline because the deadline is put in place so the school can start reviewing applications. Waiting for a couple of weeks for teacher recommendations will probably cause your application to be delayed or too late.
Earlier is always better. If there are a limited number of spots, they can’t begin to consider your application until the whole packet has arrived.
That said, it is what it is. Get those apps in ASAP. Your school will do what’s necessary on their end, but in the order in which requests were submitted. So it may very well take some time before they go out. The colleges understand this; they know how swamped the College Placement offices of high schools are.
