If I plan to apply for fall '12 should I have all my pre reqs done by the end of fall '11 or am i okay as long as they're done by spring '12?

This is also very random but I went to a CSU before going to my cc and the English 2 class I took at the csu don't be accepted by the UCs so I had to retake it at my cc. Did the English 2 class not be calculated into the gpa the UCs will look at at all? I got an A in it but think I'm going to get a B this time :'( does anyone know?

Yes, it’s okay to have it done by Spring '12, but try to get a 4.0 in your major classes, and to have them all done by Fall '11. This way the adcoms can see those grades and consider them in the admissions process.

You will be fine if you complete them Spring '12. For the 2nd question, I think UC will only count community college classes in your transferable GPA.

i dont know what your major is, but for impacted major, especially engineering, the more you finish pre-reqs by the time of application(fall '11 in your case), the better your chance for acceptance.

^ I also think that throws up a red flag. The admissions people need to see how well you did in your major prereqs, and they won’t be able to see that if you take several of your prereqs the spring semester prior to transfer. I would strongly recommend you finish as many prereqs as you can by the fall.

Thanks for your help guys!
My major’s not impacted and my situation is a little weird. I’m an anthro major and took and archaeology class thinking it’s the pre req when it’s actually not. I need to take the actual pre req archaeology class. The UC’s will only give me credit for the class I’ve already taken (even though it doesn’t meet the pre req. weird) so instead of taking the actual pre req i need in the fall i’m instead going to take a class that can actually boost my gpa and take the pre req in the fall.
