Does it matter?

Do colleges really want to see three subject tests even though they require two? Why do so many people take more than the required amount?

If colleges really want to see three, they ask for three. They have no reason to lie. Most people on CC take more because they are more interested in “gaming” the system than learning.

I’ve taken 4, just to make sure that I am covered as I don’t know where all I plan on applying. I also found out just a few days before taking the ones I signed up for, that many schools prefer the chemistry/physics and not the bio. Bio is my intended major and what I had signed up for, but I added chemistry on test day. I also had already taken a math. I also wanted a humanities SAT 2, so took USH, as I had just taken the AP exam. So it’s not gaming, it’s about having my bases covered and being prepared for anything that a school may want. The tests are cheap too.
