I'm a junior in high school and the first semester in my sophomore year I bombed three of my classes. My grades were all A's the next semester and I retook the first semester's again over the summer and got A's. On my high school transcript though it shows RT for re-took and the score I got on them.
Does it matter? Or do colleges not care that you had to retake a course to get a better grade? They are the only classes I've retaken though, the rest are fine.
Three classes are: AP Calculus AB, AP Physics 1, and Pre-AP English 2
Thank you.

If I’m the AO and there are no other hiccups in the transcript, I’m thinking that you screwed up and you made amends: case closed. If I’m looking for something to torpedo your app, I can probably find better discrepancies to work with.

@alonal: I agree with @jkeil911 and would add one futher thought. You asked, “Does it matter?” I’m not trying to be difficult, but one must necessarily ask, “matter for what?” If you were only to apply to H-Y-P-S, it “might” marginally matter (and it also might not, see post #1). Whereas, were you to apply to some decent public universities in your home state, it is very unlikely to matter in the least. You’re a junior, you’ll submit applications next year, and you’re probably not entirely sure what your “target schools” will be. Moreover, you cannot alter these RTs – like it or not, they will be on your transcript. Therefore, I suggest you work hard for the next year on what can still be improved to make you a stronger candidate, and don’t obsess with what is unchangeable.
