<p>We have the same problem. You cannot determine my ds gender based on her name. We gave her a family name and, at the time, I thought it would be great as she got older because employers would not be able to tell if she was male or female thus gender would not prevent her from getting interviews. I guess it worked, as we have had several schools send information addressed to Dear Mr .. I find it interesting that I am now annoyed that they arent getting her gender correct! She did try to get it changed at one school but they continue to send information to Mr . She has decided not to apply there, mainly for other reasons but this certainly did not help. I might also add that she hated her name as a child but seems to really like it now.</p>
