Does it matter...

<p>Do you have to waive your right to see recommendations? Does it affect admissions in any way?</p>

<p>The point of waving them is so the college knows that your teacher could write whatever he/she wanted without worrying what the student might feel. As a rule of thumb, ALWAYS waive them. I - and most of CC - feel that adcom’s will discount your recs a bit if the right to see isn’t waived. </p>

<p>Plus, a lot of teachers will show it to you anyways or tell you that they can’t write a great one, so you don’t need to really see them.</p>

<p>Does this apply for the counselor one also?</p>
