Washington University in St. Louis sends me numerous pamplets and booklets, but I can't tell if the college have a genuine interest in me or is sending everyone this much info. Can anyone give me some advice

St. Louis always sends a lot of pamphlets.

WUStL is particularly notorious for sending out promotional material. Not an indication of interest, sorry, just an indication that you are on their mailing list.

depends on the college was it like a big state college or a tiny college.... if it's a state college than they like your scores

Yeah, WUStL is the school that sends the most stuff to me (I get enough mail from all the other colleges already, seriously...). I'm a bit put off by this... not applying there, either. Oh well... thank you for the heads up, fireflyscout.

Just take it as some kinda repayment by the university. They sent it to you because you showed a lil interest in that particular university...proly from the SAT score that you already sent to them. But, I think it's normal for a university to pay close attention to its future applicants. I don't think WashU would send these things if you had not sent something to them earlier. So, don't take it seriously...it's just for marketing purposes as not many people know that it's a good university due to its ambiguous name.

Meh, I wasn't the one who sent WUStL (or any other school, really!) anything! When I took the PSAT, I ticked the little box that says "hey go ahead and tell colleges how well I scored so they can see how 1337 I am!" Since then, I've received a steady stream of college snail mail and emails. Some of that is actually from colleges I like, but the rest... meh. Oh well, you take the good with the bad... or however that saying goes...

naw it means nothing. It simply means you're on their mailing list, not that they have any specific interest in you. sorry!!!

If you dislike getting crap in the mail from universities, just wait til you graduate. The school sells your information to credit card companies who package their junk mail in envelopes bearing the school seal. I get probably a dozen credit card offers in University of Wisconsin envelopes a year.
