On May 22, 2009 a shipment label was printed by T. Sullivan (574-631-9806)of UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME for delivery to Chengcheng Jia. The shipmentnumber of this package is *************. Sender's message:'sending transfer admit documents'

Does it "'sending transfer admit documents" mean that I am ADMITTED?

I am an international student and haven't received a admitted notification like this. (Most my other admitted notification is by email or status webpage.)

U of Notre Dame is REALLY my Favourite School. I REALLY desire to go there.
PLEASE, TELL ME NOW, AM I REALLY ADMITTED?

two of my friends and I all think that it means you got accepted. this is NOT a guarantee but the fact that admit is in the name of the message is a good sign

I’m an international student too and I also received a shipment label when I was accepted and the number to track my package. It was also from that same name.

From what I think, yes it is an acceptance because Notre Dame only send acceptances to Internationals by courier, DHL im most cases.

I think you were admitted. Go ahead and call transfer admissions, they are likely to tell you that news over the phone. Then you don’t have to wonder until it comes!

OH, YES. Thank you all. I have asked them by email, and they replied me in half an hour that I had been admitted.
This is really the happiest time in my life!!!
Besides, U of Virginia asked me to accept or decline their offer by May 15th, and send a deposit. Having no admission decision from Notre Dame, I had to accept their offer and paid a deposit.

Now, I feel a kind of guilt. Did I make somebody lose the chance to go UVa by accepting the offer from UVa and U of Notre Dame?
Will you say something to me to let me feel better?
I do not want to do so, but~~ UVa asks me to decide too early…

Hate to say it, boss, but that’s really not your problem. Seems cold, but you were stuck. Look out for number 1 first, etc, etc.

That being said, waitlist admits are usually rolling throughout most of the summer. Just send UVa a letter or email letting them know you won’t be attending next year. You won’t get the deposit back, but the spot will be filled by someone else, don’t worry.

Cheng -congrats. Feel no guilt for UVA. That is how the waitlist process works. UVa assumes some students who send deposits don’t stick. And they get to keep your deposit, then acept another student off their waitlist.
