Alright, so tomorrow, as we all know is the Oct ACT.
I have taken the ACT twice and scored shamefully the first time and okay the second time
I got:
Composite: 31
Math: 33
Science: 33
English: 28
Reading: 28
Essay 10 -doesn't count :(
I feel I should be giving other stats so here goes:
SAT superscore BLEH- 2090
M: 710
R: 710
W: 670
Essay: 10
School- 91.6
APs- 7
Honors- 8
Took Honors Trig, Honors Chem, Honors Eng, Honors Pre calc, Honors Physics, Honors Eng, Honors Spanish, AP World, AP Bio, AP US, AP Chem, AP Calc AB, AP Macro AP Lit, AP Psych, Multi - Calc III (it's so hard!)

In light of everything is it worth retaking? I mean the scores are super lopsided and it is very frustrating, but I mean is it worth the shot? I am conflicted just a night before. I genuinely studied for the Sept one and got those results. The first shameful sitting was in June after APs so I did not study.
This time, I really did not have much materia since I wiped it for Sept so it's just some practice and that's it.
I am applying
ED to Barnard
Early Action: U Chicago-- UVA--Drexel BA/BS/MD--Bing-- U Mich-- Georgia Tech--UNC Chapel Hill
There are many reaches and a couple of safeties, but hey it's worth a shot.
Are these good enough for now and should I just take it in Dec for RD if I don't get admitted into something I like?
Please do let me know. Be harsh. Be kind.
Thank you.

For UChicago it would be worth retaking, you should be fine for Georgia Tech. I don’t know much about the other schools. I’m guessing that you prefer the ACT, so try to find ACT admissions statistics for each college you want to apply to (if they only have one for SAT, search the internet for a converter), usually it’s in the form of a middle 50% range. If you are comfortably in or higher than that range, your current ACT score should be fine. If you are barely in or are below the range, it may be worth retaking. You should probably retake it, but just know it won’t be the death of you if you get about the same score again.

IF you think you can do better on the SAT or the ACT, I would suggest retaking one or the other.

Just remember that colleges are holistic (supposedly) and that as long as your standardized tests aren’t that horrid, you will be just fine.
And you think your scores are bad? I made a 1910 on my SAT…for an Asian this is a death sentence for college apps.

NY. So NYU which is RD
Early for Bing.
Safeties are Fordham, Bing, Stony, Hunter CUNY
Those are just early schools. I think you responded on a chances thread for me earlier.
My RD list isn’t finalized, but it’s CMU, JHU, Cornell, NYU, Macaulay, Harvard, Vassar, Colgate, Duke, Columbia etc

@mte123: No it isn’t if you choose your colleges carefully. If you want to go to Wake Forest, Brandeis, American, or even Bates, Bowdoin, then you just don’t send the SAT in.

U Chicago: Reach (pay attention to the essay prompts)
UVA: High match
Drexel accelerated med: Reach
UMI: Reach
UNC-CH: Match (in-state)/Reach (OOS)
Binghamton: Low match
GA Tech: Match/High match
