Does Ithaca ever let students know of an admission decision before April 15th? Ithaca is the school I really want to attend for musical theatre. I read on their website that decisions are received by April 15. Considering every other school I applied to should let me know by the 1st I just want to know if Ithaca ever releases decisions before the 15th.

I think it was earlier than that last year and I remember it happened in waves over about 3 weeks. Some acceptances and rejections came very early others and took until the bitter end.

AthenaL, my son is not musical theater, but he found out in early January after applying by early December. On the communication they gave on their website (myIthaca) they said, “For some students we can make an admission decision without mid-year grades, and for others we may choose to wait until we receive those. Therefore, either way you should make sure your school sends those to us as soon as they become available so this may expedite the process.” And then in another forum they said, "Decision letters for first year students and transfer students are released on an on-going basis from December to April 15th, with most hearing from mid-February through March. Students applying for programs in Music, Theatre or Art, may have a required or recommended audition or interview. There are not any evaluative interviews offered or required through the Office of Admission. There is some more information here: <a href="Admission | Ithaca College;

Good luck to you!

I just looked back and my daughter found out she was accepted on March 14th.

AthenaL, my daughter auditioned Feb 2, 2010 at Chicago Unifieds; letter of acceptance dated March 5, 2010. She is a very happy sophomore MT at Ithaca! Absolutely loves the program and the people!
