Do colleges see 9th, 10th, and 11th grade as equal thirds, or is more weight put on what you do in junior year?

I believe more weight is put onto your junior year. Because, it is your most recent year of high school and show your competence (sorry, didn’t know what word to use) better. Though colleges will look at freshman and sophomore year, and see how you have increased or decreased throughout. Still, junior year…big deal

After watching 3 kids apply, I would say Junior year is huge - especially if you are planning on any EA or ED apps. S1 had a very upward trend, really kicked it in the arse and was accepted to Vandy ED1. He boosted his GPA each year…D had good grades throughout but APs & Honors Junior year & did great. It’s always nice to build on a great freshman year GPA, but you don’t want a downward trend. Hope that helps!
