If I'm on JV soccer for the rest of high school, will colleges care that I played a sport or will it seem insignificant since it's only JV? Will it count as an extracurricular and show my involvement in school? Ex: Me and another person applying for a college have pretty much identical stats from high school except she didn't play any sports and I played one JV sport. Will it count?
Thanks! No rude answers, please.
God bless xx

In my opinion, if you get rejected from any college it will not be because you played JV soccer and not varsity soccer. Think of this way: JV is better than nothing and they still need people to play in their lower level sports activities such as club and intramural. Your post seems to suggest you played for all of high school which, if true, is great as it’ll show commitment. Good luck!

Yes it will matter. It does show your involvement in school, show where you put effort and hours in, and sports and teamwork have recognized benefits. It is just that your skill level isn’t your selling point. Now it will not matter that another person does not do sports. Sports are not required, any EC has value.

no blessings, please

Well, what grade are you going into now? If it’s not senior year, then I suggest you join a travel team or do soccer over the summer to improve your game. If you want to play in college you may as well get as good as you can in high school!

JV just shows that you were committing to the sport and wanted to improve at it, despite not making varsity
