does legacy count for much??

i'm a high school junior, soon to be senior, and im considering applying to rice early decision. my sister was accepted last year, and if i understand correctly, admissions does consider legacy... but what im asking is, how far can legacy get me or will it really count for much at all? did anyone here apply and get in as a legacy, and if so how good were your stats?

Legacy probably counts a little, but not that much. Also, you're not a legacy unless one of your parents attended.

Does your sister attend Rice now? We do know of some kids whose siblings attend Rice who did not get accepted, and some that did so that it is definitely not a sure thing. But if your grades, scores, LOR and essays are good, there may be a slight tip factor for siblings of current Rice students. :)
