My sister is a freshman now at cmc and i am applying there this year. If i have a high gpa, test scores (in range), and a ton of solid extracurriculars...how much will that legacy help me to get in because i know cmc is a very selective school

I don’t think having a sister at CMC will make or break your application (especially since some colleges only count legacy as one or both parents). However, it will probably help a bit. Colleges want a high yield, or percentage of accepted applications who attend the college. If you have a sister there, they will assume you will be familiar with the college and more likely to attend than some random applicant. So… having a legacy may not automatically get you in, but it should help.
