Does location matter?

I'm currently enrolled in freshman year at community college. I took 2 summer classes so far and have a 4.0. I plan to keep my 4.0 all the way until the end of my first year. Now, I want to major in business and work to become an investment banker for a firm in NYC. The major problem I run into is the school I want to transfer to after my first year. My 2 choices are Fordham and SUNY Binghamton. Fordham is my number one choice because of its location, reputation, and internship opportunities. The problem is that it's WAY too expensive for my parents to afford. If I cannot get a good scholarship and financial aid to go to Fordham then I'm going to Binghamton. My main concern with Binghamton is that it's in the middle of nowhere and I feel like I need to be toward NYC to start networking myself and trying to land internships. Does the location of Binghamton really matter? If I end up going to Binghamton will it be hard to land a job at a big firm like JP Morgan? I would REALLY appreciate someones input

The kids we know graduating with business degrees from Binghamton are doing very well and have jobs! I would expect they have a decent amount of firms come to campus to recruit. call the business dept and verify this. See if they help you gain summer internships i the city or elsewhere.

Post this on the SUNY Binghamton threads and see if you get more responses.
